No 47-page PDF. No 'whereas' clauses. By using Taakie you agree to these terms — read them, they're not long.
- You pay R100 or R300 per month. Cancel any time.
- You own your taakies. We just store them.
- Don't do illegal things or spam through Taakie.
- We'll give you 30 days notice for any material change.
- Disputes go to South African courts. We'd rather sort it over email.
Who you are, who we are
You: a person or business who uses Taakie.
Us:Taakie (Pty) Ltd, registered in South Africa, based in Pretoria. Hereafter “Taakie,” “we,” or “us.”
What we provide
A task-management service accessed via web, mobile, and WhatsApp. We do our best to keep it running, fast, and not full of bugs. We can't promise 100% uptime, but we'll tell you if anything breaks.
Account
You're responsible for keeping your password safe and for everything that happens under your account. Tell us at hello@taakie.co.za if you think someone else has access.
Payment
- Taakie Lite: R100/month. Taakie Pro: R300/month.
- Billed monthly via Stripe. You can cancel any time — no notice period, no exit fee.
- If a payment fails we'll retry for 7 days. After that, the account drops to a read-only state until you fix it.
- VAT is included in displayed prices for SA customers.
Cancellation & refunds
Cancel any time from Settings. Your account stays active until the end of the current billing month, then closes. We don't do pro-rated refunds for partial months. If you feel hard done by, email us — we're reasonable people.
Acceptable use
You can't use Taakie to:
- Break any law (yours or ours).
- Send spam through the WhatsApp integration.
- Scrape, reverse-engineer, or rebuild Taakie as a competing product.
- Upload anything you don't have the right to upload.
- Be a nuisance to other users, our support team, or our infrastructure.
If you do any of that, we may suspend or close your account. We'll tell you why and give you a chance to export your data first, unless the violation is so severe we can't.
Your content
Your taakies are your taakies.You own them. You give us a limited licence to store them, process them, and show them back to you. That's the whole licence. We won't use your data to train AI models, sell it, or share it with anyone not listed in our privacy policy.
Our content
The Taakie brand, code, designs, and copy belong to us. You can link to us, screenshot us, and write about us all you like — see the press kit. You can't copy us wholesale.
Warranty (the legal-sounding bit)
Taakie is provided “as is.” We do our best, but we can't guarantee it's bug-free, that it'll meet every one of your specific needs, or that the WhatsApp API won't have a bad day. To the maximum extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties.
Liability
If we mess up and you lose data or money because of it, our total liability is capped at the amount you've paid us in the preceding 12 months. This is standard. It's also why we take backups seriously.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. If we change anything material, we'll email you at least 30 days before it takes effect. Continued use after that means you accept the change.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of South Africa. Disputes go to the courts of Gauteng. We'd rather sort it over email first.
